Designed in conjunction with architect Jeffrey Flanigan, the Klein Residence
is conceived as a linear axial relationship of spaces across 2 hills on a
5-acre woodland site, the main house on one hill linked by a bridge to the
guest quarters on the other. The formal geometry of the house, as perceived
from the street below, is dominated by the monumental 21ft high living room,
and contrasts with the more playful forms of the kitchen, family areas and
swimming pool at the rear. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame panoramic vistas
of trees providing dramatic
seasonal colour transformations.
